Fair photo contest seeks entries

People who are passionate about photography can showcase their photography skills at the 2010 Monmouth County Fair. The theme of this year’s amateur photography competition is “Celebrating Milestones.”

As the Monmouth County Park System celebrates its 50th anniversary of keeping the county green and livable, area residents are invited to bring in current photos of personal celebrations or social events in Monmouth County.

Entries in the photography competition can be brought to East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township, on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or on July 19 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Photographers can enter their best black and white, color or hand-tinted photo. There is also a computer-generated art category. All work should be mounted with hanger (eyelet or wire) or framed to be suitable for hanging. After judging on July 21, all photos will be on display in the Home and Garden Tent from July 21-25.

Photography is just one of many categories in the home and garden competitions. For more information about the photo contest or any other competition category, visit www.monmouthcountyparks. com or call 732-842-4000 to request a brochure.

The Monmouth County Fair will be held at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township. General admission is $7 per person. Children 12 and under are admitted free at all times.

The Monmouth County Fair is organized and presented by the Monmouth County Park System in cooperation with the Monmouth County 4-H Association.
