Police seek info on bank robbery suspect

Suspect in Aug. 20 robbery of TD Bank Suspect in Aug. 20 robbery of TD Bank FAIR HAVEN — The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual who is alleged to have committed a bank robbery in Fair Haven on the evening of Friday, Aug. 20.

According to the prosecutor’s office, at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 20 the Fair Haven Police Department responded to the TD Bank located in the Acme shopping center on River Road in Fair Haven following a report that a bank robbery had just been committed at that location.

The prosecutor’s office, Fair Haven police and the FBI immediately commenced a joint investigation into the robbery.

The preliminary results of the investigation revealed that a lone individual entered the bank and passed a note to a teller. No weapon was brandished during the robbery, but the note threatened that the robber was armed with a gun. The robber was given an undisclosed amount of currency before he left the bank on foot heading in a westerly direction through the parking lot, according to a press release from the prosecutor’s office.

The robber is described as a black male, medium skin, approximately 140 to 150 pounds in weight, at least 6 feet tall, mid-20s to early 30s in age, wearing blue jeans, a red zip-up jacket, a wig, a hat and sunglasses. The robber also had a beige satchel in his possession.
