William “Bill” F. Barry

Mr. Barry, 85, of Red Bank, died Aug. 10, 2010, at his home. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1943-1946, and in the Korean War from 1950-52. Mr. Barry was a member of the Old Bridge Police Department for more than 30 years until his retirement as a captain in 1989. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Robert. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Margaret; his daughters, Margaret “Midge” Barry Falkovic and her husband, Frank, of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Christine Hewitt and her husband, Frank, of Rumson; six grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters-inlaw and nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank at Tower Hill, Red Bank. Donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 176 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701, or the Parker Family Health Center, 211 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. The Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was entrusted with arrangements.
