Mr. Doherty, 84, formerly of Bradley Beach, died Sept. 1, 2010, in Wall. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a mutuel clerk at Monmouth Park, Oceanport, retiring in 2000. Mr. Doherty was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are three daughters, Roberta Cleary and husband, Michael, of Ponta Vedra, Fla., Justine Starrett and husband, Kevin, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Adrienne Doherty of Red Bank; four grandchildren; a greatgrandson; and several nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to his caregiver, Za Za, and special friend, Renee Rivera. A memorial Mass was celebrated at St. James RC Church, Red Bank.
