Holiday Express thanks volunteers

TINTON FALLS – More than 100 Holiday Express volunteers sipped wine, sampled cheese and socialized at the non-profit group’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Night, held at the Holiday Express warehouse on April 14. The event, held in honor of National Volunteer Week, was intended to honor the legion of volunteers who donate their time and talents to Holiday Express each season.

“Holiday Express has 1,600 volunteers who donated more than 10,000 hours of their time last year to make the season happen. The selfless giving of all our volunteers year round embodies the true spirit of the holiday season,” said Executive Director Donald Pignataro.

National Volunteer Week was established to inspire, recognize and encourage people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities and effect social change by discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to foster positive transformation.

Established by Tim McLoone in 1993, Holiday Express is a nonprofit organization that delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year.
