Atlantic Watch to honor Declan O’Scanlon

Assemblyman Declan J. O’Scanlon Jr. will be the honoree at the annual dinner of the Pipes and Drums of the Atlantic Watch.

The Red Bank-based Atlantic Watch hosts the annual “Get Your Irish Up” fundraiser dinner to celebrate the Irish in everyone. This year’s event will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at Middletown VFW Post 2179, 1 Vets Lane, off Route 36 in Port Monmouth.

A native and long-time resident of Little Silver, O’Scanlon is a state house freshman, having previously served 14 years as a councilman in Little Silver. Currently he is the Assembly Republican Budget Officer. O’Scanlon is CEO of FSD Enterprises, Inc., a wireless communications consulting company, and the board president of Love Inc., a faith-based charity.

He was recently inducted into the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame at his alma mater, Red Bank Regional High School.

In addition to acknowledging this year’s honoree, the festivities will feature traditional Irish dancing, music, an open beer and wine bar and catered dinner as well a performance by the Atlantic Watch.

Proceeds from the dinner help support this totally volunteer organization, which welcomes members of all ages and backgrounds and offers free lessons in Highland piping and drumming.
