Kristina Danella has appeared in all 21 of Marist College’s games this winter, and started in three. The junior guard/forward, who transferred from the University of Massachusetts, is one of the Red Foxes’ most important additions. She’s averaging 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds a game for Marist, which is 15-6 overall and a perfect 10-0 in MAAC (Middle-Athletic Athletic Conference) play. She is one of the team’s top three-point shooters and is 34-36 from the foul line for a .944 percentage.

At U-Mass, Danella made the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team as a freshman and averaged 11.6 points and 5.6 rebounds a game as a sophomore.

Danella, who lives in Manalapan, starred at Red Bank Catholic High School, where she graduated as the school’s all-time leading scorer.

The Wildcats AAU organization’s Player Development Academy, dedicated to the promotion and development of youth basketball, is forming a new seventh-grade girls basketball team that will be coached by a Division 1 college player and based in Red Bank.
